Time-of-Flight (ToF) refers to a technology for precise distance and depth measurement, based on measuring the time it takes for a signal to travel from a transmitter to an object and back to the receiver. This method is used in various fields, including 3D imaging, autonomous driving, and industrial automation. ToF systems often operate with infrared light or laser beams to measure distances with high accuracy and in real time. An example of its application is the use of ToF sensors in smartphones to improve focusing and support augmented reality (AR).
