On 2–3 September 2026, decision-makers and experts will come together at the CCH in Hamburg for ALL ABOUT PORTS to discuss the future of efficient, digital and secure ports. PLATH and Eraneos will be there.
Germany’s ports are critical hubs for the economy, energy supply and international supply chains. At the same time, the security environment is changing. Cyberattacks, drones, spoofing, sabotage and other hybrid threats are creating new challenges for port operators, public authorities and security organisations.
How can ports respond to these developments? Which capabilities will be required in the future? And how must technology, processes and organisations interact to ensure that critical maritime infrastructure remains secure and operational even when disrupted?
These are some of the questions PLATH and Eraneos will be discussing with port operators, authorities, partners and other experts at ALL ABOUT PORTS 2026.
Thinking about maritime resilience and harbour protection as one
A modern port is a complex ecosystem. Security therefore cannot be achieved through individual protective measures or technologies alone.
What matters is the interaction between sensors, data, processes, organisations and clearly defined response procedures.
PLATH and Eraneos bring different but complementary perspectives to this challenge: technological and systems-integration expertise on the one hand, and maritime, organisational and strategic expertise on the other.
These perspectives will also be reflected in two sessions on 3 September at ALL ABOUT PORTS.

How well prepared are Germany’s ports for hybrid threats?
This question will be explored by:
Heiko Fimpel, CTO at PLATH
Remy Nass, Head of Maritime Domain at Eraneos
Rear Admiral (ret.) Stefan D. Pauly, Senior Counsel and Head of the Board of Defence Advisors at Eraneos Germany
Their discussion brings together technological, maritime and strategic-operational perspectives.
Among the issues they will address are the vulnerabilities of today’s port security concepts, how existing security and sensor systems can work together more effectively, and the contribution a common operational picture can make to more resilient port operations.
The discussion deliberately goes beyond technology. Responsibilities, investment and the practical implementation of resilient security concepts will also be part of the conversation.
Session 2 - 14:30–14:50
When the fence is no longer enough – the new reality of port security
In the afternoon, Dirk Dullinger, Senior Sales Manager at PLATH, will focus more closely on the practical evolution of port security.
The threats facing modern port infrastructure no longer stop at the perimeter fence.
In his session, Dirk Dullinger will explain why existing security measures need to be more closely interconnected and what role an integrated, modular approach can play.
The focus will be on connecting existing sensors, port IT systems, control centres and other sources of information, as well as on a pragmatic route from identifying existing security gaps to the gradual integration of additional capabilities.
Two sessions – one central challenge
The two sessions approach the same challenge from different perspectives.
The first discussion asks the strategic question: What does resilience mean for a port operating in a hybrid threat environment?
The second focuses more closely on implementation: How can existing capabilities be developed into an integrated approach to harbour protection?
Through both sessions, PLATH and Eraneos aim to contribute to the wider discussion on how critical maritime infrastructure can be protected in a more comprehensive way.
