Situational Awareness Picture
A Situational Awareness Picture (also Common Operational Picture / COP) is the structured, visual, and continuously updated comprehensive representation of all relevant information, objects, and events within a defined area and timeframe. It is created through the fusion and processing of data from various sources (e.g., sensors, databases, or manual inputs). A user-friendly Graphical User Interface (GUI) organizes this influx of data so that the human operator can instantly comprehend the current situation, identify relationships, and make informed decisions based on it.
