SATCOM (Satellite Communications)

SATCOM (Satellite Communications) refers to the wireless transmission of data, voice, video, or navigation signals via relay stations in Earth's orbit (satellites). This form of telecommunication overcomes the geographical limitations of terrestrial infrastructures, enabling global or long-range connectivity between ground stations, vehicles, vessels, and aircraft. A user-friendly Graphical User Interface (GUI) for SATCOM applications must translate specific physical and orbital parameters (such as signal latency, frequency shifts, orbital paths, and global coverage areas) into an intuitive visual structure to make complex connection and monitoring workflows manageable for the operator.
