AESA (Active Electronically Scanned Array) technology
AESA (Active Electronically Scanned Array) technology refers to radar systems whose beam is controlled electronically – rather than mechanically – by many small transmit/receive modules (TRMs) shaping the signal together. This allows the radar to switch extremely quickly between different directions and tasks, track multiple targets simultaneously and effectively filter out interference. AESA radars offer greater range, better resolution, greater reliability and high resistance to electronic countermeasures.
