About the PLATH Intelligence Day
Every year on the day before the AOC Europe PLATH invites to the Intelligence Day 2025, which is expected to attract more than 600 attendees from all over the world. We are looking forward to bringing the community together and to discussing the latest developments with the impulses from various expert contributions on selected topics.
Speakers 2025
Our speakers 2025 were experts in their fields again and have many years of practical experience. The 14th PLATH Intelligence Day again had lectures of 15 minutes around the two focus topics:
- 1. Multi-Domain Autonomous Intelligence
- 2. Real-Time Intelligence, Data Fusion and Adaptation

Dr. Andreas Schwolen-Backes, CEO/CTO PLATH
Since January 2005 Dr.-Ing. Andreas Schwolen-Backes works at PLATH. Since 2022 he is CEO and CTO of PLATH GmbH & Co.KG. Since 2018 he was Managing Director of Business Division of S&I resp. RRS. He is member of PLATH’s executive board since 2013. He had several roles as CTO, Director Signal Products, Director Project Management and Project Manager.
In parallel, he was lecturer for University Kempten from 2010 to 2016. He did his Doctoral Thesis in RF Technologies and studied Electrical Engineering. He served the German Bundeswehr’s “signal troops” and “command & control systems” from 1990 to 2003, which he left in the rank of a Captain. He is a member of the AOC.

Jonas Pedersen, TUCO Marine Group
Jonas Pedersen is the Managing Director of Tuco Marine Group, a Danish company specializing in the design and manufacture of lightweight, high-performance vessels utilizing advanced composite materials such as carbon fiber. Under his leadership, Tuco Marine has developed the ProZero series, which includes Uncrewed Surface Vessels (USVs) designed for both commercial and defense applications. Notably, Tuco Marine collaborated with Ørsted to construct the prototype Ørsted USV, an autonomous vessel for offshore measurement campaigns. Additionally, Jonas has overseen partnerships integrating autonomous systems for subsea asset inspection, such as the collaboration with EIVA to combine Tuco's ProZero USV with EIVA's remotely operated towed vehicle technology.

Adi Dulberg, IAI ELTA
Adi Dulberg is the VP & GM of the Intelligence, Communications & EW Division at IAI ELTA Systems since 2019. The division is market leader for advanced SIGINT, Electronic Warfare, communications and intelligence solutions. Before that, Adi was the Deputy GM of the division. Prior to joining IAI ELTA, Adi was the CEO of ChipPC, a virtual computing company, the CEO of ZettaPoint, a database optimization company, and the founder and CEO of NextNine, a secure technical support automation company.
Adi serves as the Chairman of the board of IronBrain, a Defense AI company, and was formerly a board member of Creomagic and NextNine. Adi is a multi-disciplinary executive with strong background in engineering, marketing, sales, business development and leadership. Adi is an entrepreneur at heart who enjoys working with smart people, building new businesses, penetrating new markets and leading business growth. Adi holds a BSc. in Mathematics and Physics from the Hebrew University.

Erik Herlyn, CFO of Xer Technologies AG
Erik Herlyn is CFO of Xer Technologies AG and leading the defense initiatives of Xer. Erik has spearheaded the growth and financing of various fast-growing companies.
Xer is developer and producer of a multicopter UAV that can fly 2.5 hours with 3Kg payload in adverse weather conditions. Plath and Xer developed a system to carry 3 EM warfare payloads in parallel (displayed at the AOC).

Wolfgang Schneider, IBM Consulting
Wolfgang Schneider is senior partner at IBM Consulting and leader "Smart Multi Domain Operations Defense & Intelligence – Situational Awareness". IBM is pioneer of Hybrid Cloud and AI Technology.

Heiko Fimpel, PLATH
Heiko Fimpel is Director Presales at PLATH (joined 2020), with over 15 years of experience in systems engineering, communication technologies, cyber security and aviation certification.
After his studies of Electrical Engineering with focus on Information and Communication Technologies, he has started in aviation sector working for large development projects as e.g. the Airbus A380 and A400M program and crossed Automotive, Railway and submarine domains working through SILVER ATENA Engineering GmbH.
Besides the projects themselves, his major achiements have been the standardization activities for Unmanned Aerial Systems and Wireless Communication Standards in Brussels. In combination with his experience in setting up, implementation and training of cyber security standards for industrial system developments and the time heading an EASA Design Organisation in Hamburg merges perfectly with the topic of unmanned autonomous Intelligence systems.

Sebastian Sturm, MBDA
Sebastian Sturm, Sales and Business Development Manager at MBDA Deutschland GmbH is responsible for all EW-activities within Air Systems. During 20 years of active duty in the German Airforce and flying the Multirole Combat Aircraft Tornado ECR (Electronic Combat and Reconnaissance), he gained profound operational experience in Electro Magnetic Spectrum Operations. Combined with a study in Aeronautics and a specialization in Uncrewed Aerial Systems, he is an expert for future drone operations in the electromagnetic spectrum.

Antoine Vignol, INNOSYSTEC
Antoine Vignol has been working at INNOSYSTEC GmbH in Salem since 2022. After his military training at the French Army Military Academy of Saint-Cyr and his academic degree (MA) at the University of the German Federal Armed Forces, he served in the French armed forces and the French intelligence agencies. Today he works as a pre-sales manager at INNO. Thanks to his extensive domain experience, he acts as a product consultant for our customers in the intelligence and military sectors. From requirements elicitation to customer support and support in project management and implementation of product training: For our customers Antoine Vignol is not only a contact, he´s a sparring partner at eye level.

Cesare Del Vecchio, IPS S.p.A.
Cesare Del Vecchio has spent his last 18 years in IPS side-by-side with tier 1 LEAs and Intel Agencies worldwide, supporting them in OSINT, COMINT and SIGINT capabilities and technologies. Today he is responsible for the Business Development at IPS providing actionable feedback to the operational needs of our customers.

Dr. Frank Langmann, Hensoldt
Dr. Frank Langmann has many years of international experience in the development as well as product and portfolio management of EW and SIGINT systems. He has worked with military land, sea, and underwater systems, as well as airborne platforms. He has experience in leading complex large programs such as FCAS and Pegasus. Today, he is head of airborne mission systems as well as company-wide responsible for data fusion and sensor resource management capabilities.

Gregor Zowierucha, CEO/CSO PLATH
Gregor Zowierucha has taken over the responsibility as CEO of Plath GmbH on June 1st, 2024. As graduate from Helmut-Schmidt-University Hamburg in Industrial Engineering, he held various management and executive positions in the German Defence Industry inter alia Executive Vice President Sales at Rheinmetall Electronic Solutions.
He looks back on two decades as an German Air Force General Staff Officer including operational deployments and assignments in the German MoD.
Gregor is married with four kids.

With a record-breaking attendance of more than 750 participants from 45 different countries worldwide from government, defense, academia, and industry, the event marked a new high point in its history

We look back on an exciting and successful PLATH Intelligence Day 2024.
In its 13th edition, the industry event once again broke the attendance record. More than 600 participants travelled to Oslo to discuss the latest developments in the run-up to the AOC Europe conference. This year, specialist presentations on the highly topical subjects of artificial intelligence and software-defined defence provided impetus.

More than 450 guests followed PLATH´s invitation to the Intelligence Day on 15 May 2023 in Bonn. For the 12th time PLATH brought together organisations and individuals from government, defence, industry and academia ahead of the conference and trade exhibition AOC Europe.
