PLATH GmbH was founded in 1954 by Dr. Maximilian Wächtler, the German pioneer of radio direction finding technology, and can be traced back to its origins in 1837. We look back on more than 50 years of successful development and operation of direction finding technology, monitoring and intelligence systems.

Some technological highlights from PLATH´s development have been:

  • 1952 - the first visual direction finding receiver for ship navigation S1/1
  • 1988 - the first HF broadband direction finder DFP 5300 for monitoring of large frequency ranges
                in real-time
  • 2003 - the first automatic HF intelligence system ACOS with broadband direction finder
  • 2008 - the first VHF/UHF broadband direction finder system DFS 2400 with a 7-channel correlative
                interferometer principle

Latest Developments

Starting with the development of the ACOS system in 1999, PLATH continuously grew and expanded its competences in system design and implementation. Today PLATH is an internationally accepted name for complete intelligence systems with outstanding capabilities.
